Twenty charter slots is the benchmark and the goal, and a chapter can run above or below it as it grows. Alongside the charter trades, recurring-service businesses (pest control, lawn maintenance, fertilization, pool service) join as affiliated vendors, and the professionals who see the home at its biggest moments (insurance agents, real estate brokers, property managers) join as network partners.

Affiliate seats never consume a charter slot and stay open to multiple businesses per category. Their techs are on more properties more often than anyone, so the chapter's most real-time early-warning system, first to spot a home being sold, a storm-damaged fence, or a failing system. When a charter slot in their trade opens, an affiliate in good standing can apply to upgrade into full membership.
Network partners are the chapter's early-warning system at the transaction level, a realtor's pre-list walkthrough, an agent's claim call, a manager's turnover schedule. Because of the legal restrictions on per-lead payments in their industries, partner referral value is issued as homeowner credits: their customer is rewarded for their loyalty to the Collective with a dollar-for-dollar credit at any seated business, and the partner's book gets a benefit no competing agent or broker can match. Partners and affiliates alike can offset, or even fully erase, their onboarding by bringing their existing customers into the opt-in pool up front: more vetted, consented homeowners for the chapter on day one, lower initiation cost for them.
The flywheel
Every chapter member has techs and reps in customers' homes every day. When they spot work outside their trade, they log it, route it, and a quote can be in the homeowner's hands before the homeowner even thought to call. That is proactive selling: a win for the homeowner, the referrer, and you.

An HVAC installer finishing a tune-up notices fogged double-pane windows: a failed seal the homeowner hadn't registered. They log it from the truck, the window member gets a routed quote the same hour, and the homeowner signs a limited-time offer before ever shopping it around.

Fixing a supply line, the plumber's moisture meter lights up the baseboard in the next room. Instead of a referral card and a maybe, they log it, the mitigation member confirms a same-day visit, and the homeowner avoids weeks of hidden mold.
Landscaper → Fence
A lawn crew chief sees a fence one storm away from falling into the neighbor's pool. They flag it in the network before leaving the property. The fence member sends a quote with photos the homeowner never had to take, with an expiring install slot attached.
Painter → Garage Doors
An exterior painter quoting a repaint mentions the dented, noisy garage door dragging down the whole facade. They log it on the spot; the door member bundles a replacement quote alongside the paint job: one decision, two jobs, zero extra sales calls.
Pest Control → Insulation
A pest tech treating the attic finds trampled, soiled insulation driving the energy bill up. Logged from the attic ladder, the insulation member's quote reaches the homeowner before the tech is back at the truck: problem and root cause solved in one visit.

Dues are itemized quarterly. The $1,500 capital deposit is your first-year probationary period: it is held, not spent, and refunded in full if you leave before 12 months. Renew for a second term and it converts to equity shares in the chapter, so staying members own a stake in what they build. The $500 onboarding fee is one-time and non-refundable.

Referral fees
Referral compensation isn't a handshake; it's escrowed. CollectiveTrust sits between the trades as the chapter's escrow agent, enforcing closure, holding the fee, and remitting it company to company.
Step 01
The originating member logs the opportunity with consent attached. The fee rule for that trade (flat, percentage, or capped) is locked to the lead from the start.
Step 02
Every lead must resolve. No ghosting: the receiving member closes it won with a job value, or lost with a documented reason the chapter can audit.
Step 03
CollectiveTrust acts as escrow agent for the chapter. The referral fee is collected from the receiving company and held: not pocketed by a person, not passed under the table.
Step 04
Funds are remitted company to company. Your business invoices, your business gets paid. Clean for taxes, clean for the books.
Business-to-business only: referral money moves between member companies, never to individual employees or techs. One clean 1099 trail per company.

Nothing closes without a reason: won leads carry a verified job value, and lost leads carry a verified reason.
